Split Ticket

Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

Amigo Point Of Sale includes the ability to split a ticket for customers that wish to pay separately. Tickets can be split evenly or a separate ticket can be created for each customer. When splitting a ticket evenly, the original ticket id is retained but new customer receipts are printed. The ticket is settled when the last customer has paid and the balance is zero. When splitting a ticket by guest, the original ticket is voided and new tickets are created.

Split ticket screen

Login and press the Split button under the Open Tickets button group on the start screen. Select the split method to continue. If the ticket order type does not group items by guest, the SPLIT BY GUEST button is not available.

Split ticket evenly

When splitting a ticket evenly, select the number of tickets and press the SPLIT button. The ticket can be split a maximum of 20 times. If printed receipts are not required, toggle the printer button to the off position before splitting the ticket. Tickets can be printed at any time by pressing the Reprint button on the start screen and selecting the ticket.

Split ticket by guest

When splitting a ticket by guest, a separate ticket is created for each guest.

The ticket must have more than one active guest, the SPLIT BY GUEST button is disabled. Menu item guest assignment must be enabled for a ticket to have more than one active guest. See the Order Types help topic for additional information.
When splitting a ticket by guest, discounts may be split evenly between all guests or removed entirely so that the user can open the individual ticket on the order entry screen and reapply a discount. The button is enabled only if the ticket has discounts applied.
The UNDO SPLIT button allows the user to reverse the split only while the SPLIT TICKET screen remains open. After the screen has been closed, the split can no longer be reversed.
If printed receipts are not required, toggle the printer button to the off position before splitting the ticket. Tickets can be printed at any time by pressing the REPRINT button on the start screen and selecting the ticket.
Menu item guest assignments can be reassigned by selecting the item, pressing the Quantity button and pressing the Next Guest button at the bottom left. Continue pressing the Next Guest button until the correct guest is selected. This feature is useful when the ticket is split between groups of guests. For example, a party of 2 couples may require 2 tickets. If the initial ticket was created using 4 separate guests, the server may assign all ticket items from Guest 2 to Guest 1 and all ticket items from Guest 4 to Guest 3. Then split the ticket normally to create 2 tickets.
