Amigo Point Of Sale is activated by a USB software protection device that must stay inserted at all times. The USB software protection device is automatically recognized by MS Windows XP and MS Windows Vista and does not require any drivers. Note that the USB software protection device cannot be used to activate the evaluation version. Amigo Point Of Sale full version must be installed from the installation disk.
This device should be fastened to the back of the terminal using a zip or cable tie. The device cannot be replaced if lost or stolen.
Confirm that the USB software protection device is installed by pressing the SYSTEM - LICENSING buttons on the manager screen.

Note: Back office can be installed on any PC without a USB Software Protection Device, eliminating the need for an additional Amigo Point of Sale license. If a USB Software protection is not present, Back Office can not be used to reprint tickets, but all other functions, including report printing, are available. Back office is installed by default during Amigo Point Of Sale installation and can be opened in stand-alone mode by clicking the Back office link in the Amigo Point Of Sale Start Menu Program Group (or run by pressing the Back Office icon on the Amigo Point Of Sale Front End after logging in with appropriate permissions).
